How to delete your Hakaya account
Hakaya includes an in-app account deletion flow. Before deletion is confirmed, the app prepares a preview so you can see which private data will be removed and which shared story content will stay anonymized. If you cannot access the app, contact Support and request account deletion assistance.
Steps
- Open Hakaya and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Delete Account.
- Review the deletion preview.
- Type DELETE MY ACCOUNT exactly as shown.
- Tap Delete my account and confirm.
Removed
- Your profile identity, phone number, notification tokens, and private account fields.
- Solo stories you own, along with their related media.
- Private exports, private unused media, and unsubmitted drafts.
- Your story access, pending turns, invitations, and notifications.
Preserved with identity removed
- Submitted scenes in shared stories.
- Submitted media that belongs to shared story contributions.
- Shared stories where other people also participated.
Why shared scenes may remain
Hakaya stories are collaborative. If you contributed to a shared story, your submitted scene may remain as part of that shared work, but your identity is removed. Sensitive privacy, safety, legal, or policy cases should be sent through Support for review.
